Tuesday July 26 5:00 to 6:00pm:  Indian Cooking with Joan and Thom Gorman of the Millbrook Inn

What's Up in the Garden This Week with Sally Kendall

Salad Turnips - Milder than radishes but with the same crunch salad turnips are a great addition to a salad either sliced into thin rounds or cut into matchstick-sized slices.

Sally recommends tossing the salad turnips in a homemade vinaigrette for a nice crispy side dish.

Here is a recipe for a beet and turnip salad from Yankee magazine where the salad turnips will work great.  I haven't tried it, but I have never tried a Yankee Magazine recipe that I didn't like.

Talking with the Gorman's

The Gorman's have been the Inn Keeper's at the Millbrook Inn for over 25 years!  The inn is open 8 months a year and the Gorman's travel throughout the world when the inn is not open.  There most recent trip was to India.

Be sure to check out the Indian Cooking classes that will be held at the Millbrook Inn as part of the Taste of the Valley.  Classes are limited to 10 participants each - so if you want to attend a class, sign up now!
